A panel discussion on the "Media literacy as the Guarantee of Information Security" was held as part of the 3rd Global Media Forum held in Shusha.

The panel discussion was moderated by the international news anchor and journalist Ms. Nadira Tudor, and featured speakers including Mr. Jaffar Hasnain, anchor and correspondent for TRT World, Ms. Ziphora Maubane, Head of Communication and Outreach at the African Union Development Agency, Mr. Wang Delu, First Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Eurasia Bureau of China Media Group, and Ms. Shafag Mehraliyeva, faculty member of the Communication and Digital Media Program at ADA University.

The participants discussed in detail the important role that increasing media literacy plays in ensuring information security in the modern information space. The speakers also looked into the impact of digital literacy on preventing the spread of false and manipulative information, strengthening the resilience of individual and mass information consumers against disinformation. In addition, a number of pressing issues were discussed: the impact of AI and social media platforms on the flow of information, the role of educational campaigns and educational initiatives, the need for cooperation between media organizations and state institutions, and the application of international experience in this area.

Speakers highlighted that the extensive reach of information across platforms and its power to mold public opinion now necessitate that information security be a key concern for all governments, media outlets, and involved stakeholders. This is due to the substantial influence of information on individual thought, social dynamics, and the broader political, economic, and cultural spheres.
