The impact of artificial intelligence on the modern media environment was discussed within the framework of the Forum
The last day of the 2nd Shusha Global Media Forum entitled “Unmasking False Narratives: Confronting Disinformation” started with the topic “AI's Impact on Reality, Media and Disinformation: Promoting Media Literacy" with the participation of technology and media representatives.
Hamza Azhar Salam, editor of "Pakistan Daily" newspaper, Vice President of Korea Political Science Association, Deputy Director of HK+ National Strategies Research Project Agency, Professor Gi Woong Jung of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Global Technologies, the President of the Policy Institute, Professor Paolo Liebl Von Schirach of Bay Atlantic University and Director of Information and Communications of the African Union Commission Leslie Richer discussed the role in the spread and prevention of disinformation, the impact of AI on reality, media and disinformation, as well as the importance of media literacy in the fight against disinformation, as well as the need of increasing the media literacy of consumers as a solution to the opportunities created by AI in the creation and dissemination of disinformation in the digital age, and effective cooperation models of various parties in this field.
It has been pointed out that the wide application of technologies makes the digital media environment more and more complex, and significantly expands the scope of disinformation, giving users the status of producers as well as consumers of information. "It is in this context that analyzing the impact of technology on reality, media and disinformation and promoting the education of media-literate consumers can be considered one of the main priorities of the current time".
