The 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum will be held on July 19-21.
This year's Shusha Global Media Forum is convened under the theme “Digital Pathways: Strengthening Information and Media Resilience in the Age of AI.” The forum will bring together up to 140 international delegates from 52 countries, representing over 30 news agencies, seven international organizations, nearly 80 media outlets, and other entities relevant to the media landscape. The discussions will focus on the influence of digital technologies on media in an era characterized by rapid information change, the expanding role of artificial intelligence in news production and dissemination, and the critical importance of media literacy in ensuring the public has access to accurate and reliable information.
The forum will feature three panel sessions titled "Innovative Approaches: Media Literacy in the Digital Age", "Media Literacy as a Guarantee of Information Security", and " How Social Media Evolution Affects Public Trust: Embracing Media Literacy", as well as one-on-one meeting on "Journalism in the AI era: Preserving Truth Amid Automation".
The forum will feature an open-air exhibition dedicated to the rich cultural heritage and historical monuments of Karabakh, presentations by the representatives of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) on activities carried out in the field of information and media in the Turkic world, as well as a screening of the documentary “Destination: Shusha, Azerbaijan”. In addition, parallel events will be organized on the topics of “Cultural Heritage and New Media” and “Adapting to the Next Generation Audience and Media”.
Throughout the panel discussions and meetings, a comprehensive examination will be conducted of the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence in information production, the critical role of media literacy in mitigating the spread of disinformation, and the influence of social media on public trust.
