The participants of the Shusha Global Media Forum visited Aghdam District and the city of Khojaly
The participants of the 3rd Shusha Global Media Forum visited Aghdam District and the city of Khojaly. Their first stop was the Agdam Imarat (Palace) Complex, where they explored the historic mansions, tombs, and the ancient cemetery, as well as the equestrian site dedicated to showcasing the renowned Karabakh horses and the visitor center. It was highlighted that the interactive museum within the complex provides detailed information about the Javanshir dynasty, sheds light on the history of the Karabakh Khanate, and features an audiovisual display highlighting local crafts and the poetic legacy of Khurshidbanu Natavan. The museum also includes a photo gallery illustrating both the state of the Palace during occupation and its condition following liberation.
During their visit to the Agdam Railway and Bus Station Complex, forum participants familiarized themselves with all areas of the facility, including the waiting lounge, ticket offices, library, shops, entertainment zones, restaurants, and recreational spaces. It was also noted that the Agdam Railway and Bus Station Complex is home to Azerbaijan’s first enclosed railway platform, which is 350 meters long.
The participants also toured the village of Khidirli in the Agdam region, where they observed the ongoing reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts underway. They received a briefing on the development of modern social infrastructure in the village, with an emphasis on creating conditions that facilitate employment for local residents. Plans include providing jobs across various sectors such as cultural and entertainment centers, enterprises, economic development facilities, education, administration, and agriculture.
Concluding their visit, the forum participants traveled to the center of Khojaly, where they had the opportunity to view the overall layout of the city and learn about the post-liberation construction projects shaping its renewal.
