Quotes
"As journalists, it is our duty to stand out and not spread news that could harm people. At the same time, when preparing a report on certain regions, we should take into account social life and the environment."
Bora Bayraktar
"Climate change is a very serious and important topic. Journalists should be more knowledgeable about this issue."
Holger Friedrich
"At COP29, Azerbaijan can play a decisive leadership role in the global campaign against climate change. It should not be distracted by ignorant and agenda-driven coverage in Western or any other media, but confront and refute such negativity head on, while remaining focused on delivering an impactful and transformative COP for the whole world."
Francis Martin Kane
"I also want to highlight that Azerbaijan has the capacity to supply gas to Europe. However, there are challenges related to infrastructure, such as the costs associated with gas transportation."
John Roberts
"We invite everyone to Baku, as each individual has a role to play in the climate action. Baku provides an ideal platform for this crucial effort."
Nigar Arpadarai
"Analyzing the impact of technology on reality, media, and disinformation, and promoting media-literate consumers are among today's priorities."
Hamza Azhar Salam
"While utilizing AI-powered data is crucial in combating disinformation, the producers of the final product must be held accountable."
Gi Woong Jung
"As the African Union, we have adopted a continental strategy for 2024 aimed at enhancing our contribution to the global digital platform. We are collaborating closely with Wikipedia to ensure that artificial intelligence cites accurate information. Effective use of AI is crucial."
Leslie Richer
"It can become a nightmare when computers start acting on their own, as limiting its use solely for positive purposes or regulating its application may prove challenging."
Paolo Liebl Von Schirach
"Disinformation differs from misinformation by intent and motive. Our role as media is actually to enliven people by telling them what is exactly, getting them to the surface, discussing it, getting their opinion, people's opinion about it."
Salah Negm
"We've moved from disinformation to an era of perpetual misinformation. This is a significant challenge, especially on topics like climate change, where varying opinions persist due to longstanding misinformation."
Thembisa Fakude
"As a news agency, we must prioritize accuracy, speed, and objectivity. Our confidence should not be undermined by instances of fake news. Disinformation is disseminated not only by certain private institutions but also by government entities."
Mohamed Er-Raji
"Some people write comments like “why do you support ethnic cleansing and barbarism?” However, I have stated that I am simply conveying the truth about what I have witnessed."

"Newspaper sales started declining two decades ago. We were hoping that the young people of the time would get older and buy newspapers. But now we see that they aren’t buying newspapers today. Young people do not care about things they are not interested in. Therefore, it is necessary to take into consideration what they want."
Clive Marshall
"The line between news and entertainment is disappearing, and the identification is being observed. The fact that news is increasingly becoming a show and is being presented to people in an entertaining format also causes the spread of disinformation. Additionally, technological innovations play a role here. Advances in technology create new challenges in media."
Prof. Paolo von Schirach
"I would like to distinguish professional, traditional journalism from social and online media. These are two different phenomena, each of which should be treated with attention and respect, but not confused with each other. The most significant thing is the dissemination of accurate, reliable, not falsified and non-propagandistic information. We must fight for the truth."
Mikhail Gusman
"Azerbaijan is one of the rare places where you can speak all languages. President Ilham Aliyev spoke recently about the Non-Aligned Movement. I can also call this Forum "Non-Aligned Media."
