In the panel discussion moderated by Mr. Orkhan Amashov, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the international television channel “AnewZ”, Vice President and Editor-in-Chief of Anadolu Agency Mr. Yusuf Özhan noted that the reconstruction of cities after conflicts and crises is not limited to the implementation of infrastructure projects, urban planning policy and the presentation of architectural heritage to the public play a decisive role in reconstruction, and in this context, the media becomes a strategic tool that ensures the public’s trust in the reconstruction process by delivering urban planning narratives objectively and responsibly.
Mr. Rufat Hamzayev, Executive Director of the international television channel “AnewZ”, said that the transition from destruction to revival does not only include technical and economic aspects, but also the stages of social, cultural and psychological recovery. The professional and ethical position of the media in the urban planning agenda contributes to the formation of balanced and inclusive narratives, strengthens the active participation of society in the reconstruction process, and allows the revival of cities to be built on public trust.
The panelists exchanged views on the media coverage of urban regeneration, the public importance of preserving architectural and cultural heritage, the formation of urban planning narratives, and the role of media responsibility in these processes.
